Why I create

I’ve always loved making things. As a kid, I learned early that imagination can turn scraps into something special… cardboard forts, homemade toys, and beyond. I’ve dabbled in all kinds of creativity… sewing, painting, drawing, jewelry, scrapbooking and I got pretty carried away with a few of these.
 

Some years ago, we had a tree cut down from our backyard, and the man cutting the tree asked if I wanted any of the wood. I asked, “what would I do with it” and he said “make something” - that started it all. From that tree, we created epoxy-and-wood tables from cookie-slice slabs, then jewelry from tiny wood pieces. Soon we expanded to a full wood shop and a studio dedicated to painting and epoxy work.

A note on creativity and focus

I have ADHD, and I celebrate how it fuels my creativity. Yes, I can get a little carried away, but that energy is what makes my work distinctive and dynamic. It also means my projects come from a place of genuine excitement and spontaneity.
